Billiton to sell Wallarah collieries this quarter

BILLITON hopes to sell its stakes in three Australian collieries by the end of this quarter, the world's largest exporter of steaming coal said.

The three mines are run by the Wallarah Coal Joint Venture, which is 80%-owned by Billiton, the United Kingdom's third largest company. Japan's Nissho Iwai Corp owns the remaining 20% of the venture....
