Underground training push gathers pace

A COUPLE of months ago, an audience of around 100 people watched a graduation ceremony at the Western Australian School of Mines in Kalgoorlie. It wasn't your everyday graduation. To paraphrase Neil Armstrong, it was one small step for mine training, one giant leap for Delta Gold's Kanowna Belle workers.

The gathering recognised 70 Kanowna Belle employees who had upgraded their skills to the point where they were eligible to receive nationally recognised mining industry certificates.
