GFMS: Gold price to firm to US$282/oz

GOLD is expected to firm to US$282 an ounce in the first half of 2002, with higher investment and a cut in producer hedging offsetting a fall in demand for jewellery and electronics, Gold Fields Minerals Services said in a report released overnight.
