Nickel at 27-month high on Norilsk strike fears

NICKEL climbed to a 27-month high in London overnight driven by fears of a strike at Norilsk, the world's biggest producer of the metal.

Three-months nickel ended the day at US$8300 a tonne at the kerb close, the highest level since October 2000 and a strong rise from Friday's finish at US$8040.
