EMERGING zinc miner Red River Resources says continued improvements at its still-emerging Queensland operations have led it to break another record for the September quarter, resulting in record quarterly zinc concentrate production of 6800 tonnes.

The company, which secured the mothballed Thalanga project in 2014 and started up operations in late 2017, attributed the rise to continued improvements with a record 90,000t of ore mined at West 45, up from 84,000t, and 98,000t put through its refurbished plant, up from 70,0000t.
 
The result was an increase of 1323t in zinc concentrate, up 24% from the June quarter, and a corresponding 33% jump in lead concentrate to 2747t, an increase of 682t.
 
The zinc grade was up from 4.3% to 5% and the lead grade was higher, up from 1.9% to 2.2%, while copper, gold and silver grades were steady.
