The pipeline is 304km long, and is part of the key infrastructure acquired by New Century when it did its innovative deal with previous Century owner MMG.
At full speed, New Century's tailings reprocessing venture is set to produce 264,000 tonnes of zinc in 500,000t of concentrate at C3 costs of about US$1100 per tonne.
Shares in New Century were up nearly 4% to A$1.03 in early trade capitalising the company at $517 million.
