Anti-nuclear legislation introduced in WA parliament

IN A move to keep Western Australia free of nuclear power, the state government is looking to slap fines of $500,000 on anyone attempting to build or operate a nuclear power plant in the state under legislation introduced into state parliament today.

In a statement released today, Energy Minister Francis Logan said WA was facing the risk of having nuclear energy being imposed on it by the Federal Government.
