Vacancies exist for two experienced open pit mining engineers to work a lifestyle friendly 8:6 roster out of Melbourne or from the local Cobar region.
Open pit mining operations are undertaken by a mining contractor. You will be part of a small team that includes a Mine Geologist, Surveyor and Pit Technician reporting to the Mining Manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing short to medium term plans that ensure budget delivery.
- Working with the Mine Geologist to ensure effective grade control of mining operations.
- Day-to-day coordination and supervision of contract mining operations.
- Mine operations reporting.
- Ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
To be eligible to apply for this role you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar. Applications from people with other qualifications such as Civil Engineering or Surveying, but who believe that they have relevant experience will be considered.
- Excellent proven track record in metalliferous open pit mining operations.
- Experience with various mining software such as Micromine.
- A professional attitude and the ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously when required.
