The Client
Mindax is a successful exploration company that has in place a diversity of projects spread across the minerals sector including iron ore, uranium and gold. Mindax have successfully built a significant portfolio of minerals projects in Western Australia's Yilgarn Craton of about 40 tenements covering some 4,600 sq kms. With a significant iron ore asset the company is preparing to transition to mining and put in place the necessary approvals and aligning infrastructure providers including rail and port. Discussions with a strategic partner are in place.
The Role
Mindax is currently seeking to secure the services of an outstanding individual to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. This newly created position will guide and lead Mindax along the pathway to production. The company already has an innovative and highly experienced team who have completed a scoping study and are preparing to embark on a pre-feasibility study for the Mt Forrest Iron Ore Project. This role will report to the Board of Directors.
Key issues will be:
- Co-ordination of the pre-feasibility study
- Environmental and Heritage Permitting
- Key stakeholder relationships including port and rail
About You
To be successful you must have:
- In the order of 20+ years relevant experience predominantly in bulk commodities
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, but preferably in Mining Engineering
- Prior experience in project and infrastructure development and a track record with an emergent miner
- Strong communication skills to guide the company along the pathway from explorer to producer
- A passionate but patient disposition with the ability to interact with people from other cultural backgrounds
In addition, the following attributes will be highly regarded:
- A Western Australian First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate
- Experience in iron ore
- Exposure to corporate finance
