AUSDRILL has received a letter of intent for a A$180 million contract for work on Mineral Resources’ Wodgina lithium mine in the Pilbara.

The three-year contract with MinRes subsidiary Process Minerals International is for drill and blast services and will use 29 drill rigs and 150 personnel.

Final award of the contract is subject to formalisation of terms and documentation.

"We are very pleased to have successfully negotiated this new contract and look forward to working closely with the PMI team in building a successful partnership," Ausdrill managing director Ron Sayers said.

MinRes started Wodgina up as a lithium direct shipping ore operation almost a year ago.
