Smokey Hills power restored

PLATINUM Australia says repairs to the control panel of the generators at the Smokey Hills mine in South Africa, damaged by a lighting strike last week, have been completed allowing the milling and flotation sections of the treatment plant to be restarted.

PLATINUM Australia has slapped a $US41.5 million ($A54.9 million) price tag on the development of its Smokey Hills project in South Africa, which is expected to produce about 96,000 ounces of 4E PGM (platinum-palladium-rhodium-gold) annually when it comes online.
