Copper hits new high

WHILE London Metal Exchange-traded base metals rose across the board overnight, copper reached what was nearly a three-month high of $US7505 a tonne on the back of a late afternoon rally, fuelled by surprisingly positive US economic data which bolstered demand hopes, as well as a rebound in equity markets. Its highest three-month price of $7510/t was reached on Monday.
