Cassini gives Mincor stars in its eyes

RESOURCE definition drilling by Mincor Resources at its Cassini discovery has returned an impressive 6m at 9.03% nickel from 342m, a standout intercept among significant results from infill drilling that has proven continuity of high-grade mineralisation in the CS2 channel.

Other standout intercepts included 11.87m at 3.13% from 325m and 3.83m at 5.25% nickel from 384m.

The new results are just 60m from grades between 3.48% and 7.25% within similar widths.

The company is working on establishing a maiden resource at Cassini and will test other advanced targets such as Voyce and magnetic anomalies north of CS1 in its revived nickel exploration program – its response to slowly recovering nickel prices.

Cassini was a near-surface sulphide discovery made in 2015 and comprises two channels over a 450m plunge.

It remains open to the west.

The company says Cassini substantially re-rated the prospectivity around the basal contact around the Southern Widgiemooltha Dome where folding has effectively doubled the prospective strike.
