ARTEMIS Resources is set to spend in the order of A$1 million drilling a hole to more than 3300m depth in the Pilbara testing for base metals, cobalt, gold and diamonds.

The hole is be located about 50km south of the Radio Hill mine, in an Balmoral area that features base metal/VMS and diamond prospectivity, and is about 11km from a CRA hole drilled to 2269m in the 1980s that hit 0.5m grading 10.67 grams per tonne from 1756m.

Artemis executive director Ed Mead doesn’t believe the CRA hole reached basement, while acknowledging “it’s the old story about putting four geologists in the same room and getting five opinions”.

Mead said getting the full stratigraphic profile “is really going to assist us in how we move forward”.
