KLAUS Eckhof companies AVZ Minerals and Amani Gold have separately reported strong exploration results out of the again-smouldering Democratic Republic of Congo.

AVZ’s news was a record intersection of 295m of spodumene bearing pegmatite at its Manono project, with the company saying geological logging of the drill core “suggests” a similar quantity and distribution of spodumene to a hole 100m away that recorded 235m at 1.66% lithium oxide.

The new hole was the first of a resource drilling campaign totalling 20,000m, with Manono described as a world-class lithium project.

With respect Amani, high grade gold hits have been reported from satellite targets and prospects at the Giro project, with headline drill assays of 3m grading 42 grams per tonne and 5m at 13.74gpt gold.
