High copper grades found in Stavely porphyry hunt

STAVELY Minerals has received further encouragement it’s closing in on a potential major porphyry discovery at Thursday’s Gossan in western Victoria, with assays of up to 14.75% copper and 0.6 grams per tonne gold recorded in recent drilling.

The high grade mineralisation was found over 1m intervals within broader hits of 9m at 2.62% copper and 0.28gpt gold, as well as 4m at 5.85% copper and 0.27gpt gold.

The mineralisation was found within so-called ‘D’ veins, with assays from a 100m intercept of ‘M’ veins expected in the next couple of weeks.

“Both ‘M’ and ‘D’ veins typically extend beyond the more centrally constrained copper-gold mineralised zone,” Stavely said.

Stavely is also awaiting assays from another two holes and is currently drilling a fourth hole, before moving to another target in the area.

Stavely has been exploring in western Victoria since its IPO in 2014.
