Venturex upgrading Sulphur Springs

VENTUREX Resources has been pleased with infill drilling at its Sulphur Springs copper and zinc deposit in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, and remains on track to upgrade the resource this quarter and make a development decision at the end of June.

The infill drilling was highlighted by a 65m interval that featured 16m grading 9% zinc, 9m at 1.3% copper and 7.4% zinc and 40m at 3.6% copper and 1% zinc.

Venturex also said the drilling had identified a previously unrecognised zinc-rich zone overlying the previously recognised copper zone – “a new discovery consistent with a classical VMS model”.

Sulphur Springs’ current resources total 13.4 million tonnes grading 1.5% copper and 4% zinc (plus lead and silver values), with 5.1Mt of that resource in the inferred category.

Venturex has previously flagged a 1Mt per annum processing operation producing about 32,000tpa of zinc in concentrate and 12,000tpa of copper in concentrate.
