The Las Espadas area of the Plomosas mine has been found to contain “high grade massive, sphalerite and galena mineralisation over intervals up to 1.4m exposed as remnant mineralisation over a strike length of approximately 150 metres” – and potentially extending further to the north.

It was found during mapping and sampling, with drilling planned.

ConZinc MD Will Dix said the results extend known mineralisation at Plomosas to well over 1500m of strike, and suggested “shareholders should be excited by the success we’re having in the mine area”.

A scoping study is underway on restarting operations in the historic mine, with a decision to  be made in the current half-year.

ConZinc raised A$4 million in May by issuing new shares at 1.6c each.

Shares in ConZinc were up nearly 7% to 1.6c in afternoon trade, capitalising the company at $11.6 million.
