Endeavour Mining’s new flagship mine, the US$334 million Hounde operation in Burkina Faso, poured first gold in October and achieved commercial production on November 1.

The operation is set to ramp up to 235,000 ounces at an all-in sustaining costs of $610/oz over its first four years.

B2Gold declared commercial production at the $521 million Fekola mine in Mali last month after it produced 80,000oz from September 25 up until the end of November, around 158% above plan.

Gold production from Fekola this year is expected to be more than 400,000oz at AISC of $609 an ounce, making it one of West Africa’s largest gold mines.
