The benefit to Minetec is that its products will become part of the Caterpillar suite and have the full backing of the Caterpillar dealer network.

It also means the sales and support of Minetec’s products integrated into Minestar will be handled by Caterpillar and its dealers.

Minetec executive general manager Rory Linehan said existing Minetec customers would be invited to upgrade to the Minestar offering.

“In essence this doesn’t affect our existing customers,” Linehan said.

“They will be offered the opportunity to transfer from the Minetec solution to the Minestar solution. If they don’t wish to do that they can remain a Minetec customer supported by Minetec.”
