Five fresh rocks diamond cores drilled out from the 161 Lode were tested for cyanide-leachable gold with strong initial results.

The bottle-roll tests on the samples recovered between 92.9% and 96.2%, with an average gold recovery of 94.7% for samples grading between 0.85 grams per tonne to 6.05gpt.

The recoveries are similar to results recorded at the wider Bombora prospect by Aberfoyle Resources before its takeover by Western Metals in 1998.

Apollo said the result showed that excellent gold recoveries can be achieved from typical Bombora-style disseminated sulphide lode material using conventional processing.
