JUNIOR miners have been urged to stop waiting for “the one” and step up and take a risk.

That was the key message of a panel session at ResourceStocks Sydney this morning featuring PCF Capital Group managing director Liam Twigger, Resource Capital Funds' Joe Bishop, Cardinal Resources director Robert Schafer and Lion Selection Group's Hedley Widdup.

Twigger, who sells projects for a living at PCF, said he was amazed there weren't more deals being done.

"In the leadership that's out there, there's a reticence to step up," he said.

While it's often said that you have to kiss a few frogs to find the prince, the panel suggested that perhaps juniors were kissing too many frogs.

"Too many companies are looking for a Brad Pitt when in the right circumstances, they might be able to settle for a Bart Simpson," Twigger said.
