A STRONG start to the December quarter has seen Evolution Mining’s cash balance surge, debt come down and exploration budget lifted.

Ahead of the company’s annual general meeting in Sydney today, Evolution announced production for the month of October of 64,373 ounces of gold at all-in sustaining costs of A$739 an ounce, or US$576/oz.

It comes off the back of a record September quarter that saw 220,971oz produced at AISC of A$786 or US$620/oz.

“I find it remarkable that in the September 2017 quarter, Australian gold producers occupied positions one, two and three as the lowest cost producers in the world among the major and mid-tier producers, with Evolution proudly occupying the number one spot,” Evolution executive chairman Jake Klein told the AGM.
