Superior IP confirms anomaly

QUEENSLAND explorer Superior Resources claims its IP survey over the Bottletree copper prospect near Greenvale has turned up a strong anomaly that is at least 1.4km long, beneath a surface copper geochemical anomaly where near-surface copper mineralisation from 24-178m at 0.25% copper was drilled last year.

Superior's focus is on Queensland.

The advanced MIMDAS IP survey system, which is capable of acquiring IP, magnetotellurics, electromagnetics and controlled source audio-frequency magnetotellurics, found the high order anomaly that Superior said confirmed the potential for a large porphyry copper mineralised system at depth.

Superior said magnetotellurics were vital in the discovery of the world-class Carrapateena copper deposit in South Australia, and were used to identify whether a large intrusive body or porphyry system was the source of the extensive copper mineralisation observed at Bottletree.

The anomaly remains open to the north and south.
