Bryah's Black Hill rock chips excite

SHARES in Bryah Resources have soared by some 30% in morning trade on the news that rock chips taken from a recent visit to its namesake project have returned up to 52.12% manganese at the Black Hill prospect.

Ten chips were collected from Black Hill and at the abandoned Mudderwearie mine in March. Two samples from the historic open pit were graded at 50.88% and 47.68%.

The other samples ranged between a low of 6.91% at Black Hill, albeit with 66.53% iron ore, to 39.37% from the Mudderwearie stockpiles.

Additional assays from five additional samples are due over the next two weeks.

Bryah said the assay results confirmed the presence of high-grade manganese in-situ at both locations, something that had been suspected based on prior mining, and although no records had been located, Mudderwearie was estimated to have graded around 40%.

The Bryah Basin has a history of high-grade manganese production with the nearby historical Ravelstone mine having an average recorded grade of at 48.45% from 1960s-era operations.

The explorer has determined 13 other manganese occurrences from satellite imagery across E52/3237 and E52/3349.

A VTEM survey has been shot over the target areas and should also become available soon to help with targeting.

Black Hill is dominated by a manganese capped mesa that is about 75m long, 25-30m wide and some 20m high. There is evidence of manganiferous scree on the steep slopes of the mesa as well as on the surrounding flat terrain.

Mudderwearie has two excavated areas with some stockpiled material. Both higher grade samples were taken from the West Mudderwearie mine.

There is some evidence of past drilling, but no records have been located across the licences.

The junior is now seeking approvals to drill at both locations, with the ultimate aim of quickly developing a shallow mining operation to establish cash flow to fund its gold and copper exploration programs.

Bryah launched its new manganese strategy in March after manganese prices rose around 50% over the prior six months off rising demand and slowing supply.

The company has some 718sq.km of its namesake basin.

It has secured the services of experienced geologist Brian Davis, who previously worked at the Horseshoe Flats South manganese mine a decade ago.

Bryah, which has some A$3 million in cash, was capitalised at $7.3 million.
