CENTAURUS Metals has got off to a good start on the ground at its new Itapitanga nickel-cobalt project in Brazil, with RC drilling planned begin next month.

Rock chip samples of up to 0.52% cobalt and 1.63% nickel were reported, with soil sampling and auger drilling underway.

Itapitanga is located at the southern strike extent of Anglo American’s Jacaré project that features a resource of 307 million tonnes at 1.3% nickel and 0.13% cobalt – including a high‐grade cobalt resource of 185Mt at 1.2% nickel and 0.18% cobalt.

Centaurus acquired an option over project earlier this month by paying A$60,000 for a six-month assessment period, after which another $200,000 is payable.

Further payments to the vendor totalling $1 million are due upon resource and mine lease milestones.
