COMPLEX Brazil gold story BBX Minerals has returned to the ASX trading board after five months on the sideline with a bit of a bang, with shares in the junior soaring as much as 80% in early trade.

The return to trading and strong headline market interest came after the company retracted “without liability” a report back in August and suggested investors focus on an updated and more detailed evaluation of mineralisation recovered from its Tres Estados and Ema prospects.

BBX reported the production of gold buttons from six areas measuring 10m by 10m, with a standout grade of 122 grams per tonne gold from one of the Ema areas sampled.

However, “all metallurgical test results should … be considered as partial extraction results, reflecting the efficiency of the test methodology rather than representing absolute precious metal values in the samples,” BBX said.
