RTG Mining, which is seeking to win control of the potentially lucrative Panguna project in Bougainville from incumbent Bougainville Copper has just raised a US$34 million in an oversubscribed placement co-managed by New York-based Trump Securities.

RTG, which is listed in Australia and Canada, turned to Trump Securities to help Perth’s Hartleys complete its latest private placement to international institutional and sophisticated investors.

Despite its ‘presidential’ name, Trump Securities has no formal ties to US president Donald Trump’s family business, although as Bloomberg reported in 2016 there are indirect ties to the corridors of power.

Former Trump election campaign advisor and hedge fund manager Anthony Scaramucci, who famously lasted just 10 days in the job of White House communications director, has previously done business with Trump Securities.
