Bassett and Thomas have cobbled together 5.7% of Auris’ register to initiate a vote on the issue, with the current Auris board holding 5.8%.
Company chairperson Barnes would also have the likely backing of resource sector entrepreneur and 9.7% Auris shareholder Michael Fotios given their association at other ASX-listed junior companies.
Barnes joined the Auris board in November 2016, with Vearncombe appointed in August 2017.
The corporate stoush at Auris has apparently come out of nowhere, with a statement by the company saying there had been no correspondence or other contact prior to Bassett and Thomas’ sudden emergence.
