Lithium stocks continued to suffer on the news earlier this week that major Chilean producer SQM could be set to produce significantly more product than previously anticipated.
And while the gold patch was down 1.5% overall OceanaGold was by far the best performer of the bigger mining stocks, gaining nearly 5% after reporting record annual production in 2017 and making positive forecasts for the year ahead.
Meanwhile there wasn’t a lot of action among the juniors.
Aus Tin Mining (ANW) gained around 30% with the company having an eye on cobalt as well as its namesake commodity.
