Our Client is a dynamic and hugely successful mining company genuinely committed to the safety of its workforce and environmental and social responsibilities. We are presently engaged in a search for a well regarded individual to take up the position of Maintenance Superintendent at a mining project in Continental Africa.
Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the role of Maintenance Superintendent is to manage all associated requirements for the site and to maximise fixed plant availability in the most cost effective manner whilst ensuring all personnel are working safely in following the company’s procedures whilst meeting production and development targets.
The key function of the role is to implement best practice and;
- Ensure all Maintenance activities are completed in a safe, cost effective and productive manner and assist in building a positive safety and work culture.
- Ensure the safe operational integrity of all equipment is never compromised.
- Review, modify or replace current systems and practices to foster a process of continuous improvement
- Oversee the planning and execution of scheduled plant shutdowns.
- Possess high quality interpersonal / cross cultural skills and play an active role in the development of junior department members.
